We work towards creating an immigration system tha We work towards creating an immigration system that affords equal opportunity for all by filling in the gaps between the legal needs of immigrants and their ability to connect with legal support. Volunteers, interns, and pro bono attorneys are integral in ensuring AI Justice’s high quality services are delivered to everyone who needs them.

That's why our staff partner with local law schools to provide volunteer opportunities and educate the public about our work. Last week, Pro Bono Program director Angela Bouliakis Andronis and Children's Legal Program director Alexandra Manrique participated in Ave Maria School of Law's government and public service fair, ensuring that students know the opportunities they have to assist immigrants in our community.

Thank you @avemarialaw for having us!

We oppose all efforts to restrict asylum! Biden c We oppose all efforts to restrict asylum!

Biden continues to erode the right to seek asylum, vowing to punish those seeking safety and opportunity rather than offer them protection.

Instead of continuing to dismantle the asylum system, the Biden administration MUST create a fair and humane process for people to seek protection at our border.

Since 2020, over 140 complaints have been filed co Since 2020, over 140 complaints have been filed concerning Baker County Detention Center, including cases of intimidation and harassment, barriers to access to counsel, violence against women, and medical neglect.

No matter where a person was born, they deserve safety, freedom, and dignity.

We joined activists, attorneys, and concerned community members to say enough is enough. ICE, along with the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, have time and time proven that they are not fit to operate the Baker County Detention Center now or in the future. ICE must end its contract with Baker County and release all people detained at the facility. #ShutDownBaker #FreeThemAll
Today, AI Justice attorney Cat Walker, on behalf o Today, AI Justice attorney Cat Walker, on behalf of the entire Shut Down Baker Coalition, went to deliver a letter to the Miami ICE Field Office demanding ICE cut its contract with Baker County in light of Baker County Detention Center’s long history of abuse, voyeurism, medical neglect, and unsafe conditions. Based on recent reports, conditions at Baker are worsening, reaching an unprecedented level that is putting people’s lives at risk. ICE refused to receive our letter, further demonstrating a pattern of unwillingness to hold its subcontractors - such as Baker Country Sheriff’s Office - accountable. We call on ICE to #ShutDownBaker.
Today, the Shut Down Baker Coalition gathered for Today, the Shut Down Baker Coalition gathered for a press conference on our demands for ICE to shut down the Baker County Detention Center and release all people detained at the facility. Baker has a long and troubling history of inhumane living conditions and human rights abuses. ICE must end its contract with Baker once and for all!

There is no right to free legal representation in immigration proceedings and without AI Justice, which never charges for its services, countless adults and children without the means to hire an attorney would be forced to navigate our complex immigration system alone, essentially denying them the opportunity for justice.
