“Art as a tool of resistance is one of the deepe “Art as a tool of resistance is one of the deepest forms of expression. Art has an important role to play in the movement to end immigration detention, and I’m excited to add a depth and richness to the conversation through my art. My work speaks to themes of immigration, freedom, and the need to end the mass incarceration of our immigrant friends, family, and neighbors. People should not be punished for seeking safety and opportunity in a new country. Instead, they should be welcomed, as AI Justice has extended a welcoming hand and commitment to care for our immigrant community. Through these networks of support, immigrants like me can flourish and thrive.”
Families who believe their children will die if th Families who believe their children will die if they don't flee their home country are not deterred by punitive policies. Deterrence measures–regardless of the Administration implementing them–do not work.

The U.S. must prioritize creating safe, orderly, and humane systems of welcome for asylum seekers.
Yesterday, the Biden administration sent another d Yesterday, the Biden administration sent another deportation flight to Haiti. @potus continues to ignore the serious risks to life, liberty, and physical and mental safety of the people being deported.

We demand the suspension of deportations to Haiti!
We are heartbroken to see another deportation flig We are heartbroken to see another deportation flight to Haiti leave the U.S. today.

We decry the government's refusal to implement @refugees’s non-return advisory for Haiti. This is the 10th deportation flight to Haiti since the advisory, despite the serious risks to life, liberty, and physical and mental safety of the people being deported.

@POTUS: NO MORE DEPORTATIONS TO HAITI!
Today, immigrants’ and human rights advocates ar Today, immigrants’ and human rights advocates are calling on the Biden administration to suspend all deportations to Haiti. The conditions in Haiti are dire, and deportations pose serious risks to life, liberty, and physical and mental safety.

We call upon the Administration to prioritize the safety and the rights of Haitians, and to not forget the importance of upholding humanitarian values. The United States has a historical commitment to providing refuge for those in need, and Haitian people should be no different.

President Biden: No more deportations to Haiti!
We’ve joined 74 immigrants’ and human rights o We’ve joined 74 immigrants’ and human rights organizations to call for the immediate suspension of all scheduled and future deportation flights to Haiti.

We decry the government's refusal to implement the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)’s non-return advisory for Haiti. Since November 2022, when the UNHCR called on all governments to “suspend the forced return of Haitians to their country,” the U.S. has sent nine deportation flights to Haiti, despite the serious risks to life, liberty, and physical and mental safety of the people being deported.

Advocates have reason to believe the Biden administration intends to send another deportation flight to Haiti before the end of the month. The Biden administration must make sure this deportation flight does not take place!
AI Justice paralegal Cesar Flores joined @uninotic AI Justice paralegal Cesar Flores joined @uninoticias to shed light on the rampant medical negligence, race- and gender-based violence, and other egregious abuses in ICE detention.

Immigrants in detention are human beings with the intrinsic right to safety, liberty, and opportunity. They are parents, siblings, spouses, and friends with loved ones across the U.S. They should be living with their communities and support networks while their cases are pending.

We must end the needless detention of immigrants. Community-based alternatives to detention have proven successful in ensuring people attend their immigration hearings, and we must shift our focus away from a detention-first approach.

There are over 31,000 people currently in ICE detention, with 79% of those people in detention being held in for-profit facilities. No one should profit off denying another person their freedom, and no one–no matter their immigration status or where they were born–should have their fundamental human rights violated.

The clear path forward and only humane next step is to release all people from immigration detention to the safety of their homes and communities.
Our Children’s Legal Program has been hard at wo Our Children’s Legal Program has been hard at work ensuring that immigrant children have the support, care, and representation they need to live safely and thrive in the U.S.

Despite their young age, immigrant children are not entitled to free legal representation in immigration proceedings. We’re fighting to make sure no child is forced to navigate the complicated court system alone.

Having an attorney is literally a matter of life and death for many children in immigration proceedings, since 9 out of 10 children without representation are ordered deported to the dangers they fled, while those with attorneys are 5 times more likely to be granted protection. When children have representation and are granted protection, they have the opportunity to thrive that every child deserves. And when these children thrive, our communities thrive.
“No family should go through this, no matter the “No family should go through this, no matter their status. No family should be separated.”

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for Voices For Freedom: The Case Against Immigration Detention. Together, we will build a brighter future for our immigrant friends, family, and community members—a future free from injustice, a future without immigration detention.

There is no right to free legal representation in immigration proceedings and without AI Justice, which never charges for its services, countless adults and children without the means to hire an attorney would be forced to navigate our complex immigration system alone, essentially denying them the opportunity for justice.
