Chris McAliley served as a United States Magistrate Judge, for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida (Miami) from 2004 until she retired in 2023. While on the Court, Chris presided over civil and criminal cases. Chris graduated from the NYU School of Law in 1983 and for 21 years before she joined the bench she worked as a litigator. Her practice included criminal defense, commercial civil litigation, and nine years in the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office (Miami) as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, where she founded and served as Chief of the Environmental Crimes Section. She has also developed expertise in alternative dispute resolution.
