Tonight, at our Annual Dinner, we are focused on t Tonight, at our Annual Dinner, we are focused on the plight of unaccompanied minors. In our tribute to Operación Pedro Pan, we will show how this country welcomed unaccompanied children with dignity and provided them with the support they needed to flourish.

That was in the 1960s. Our immigration system in 2025 is completely different and much more complicated.

Last year, 75% of AI Justice’s clients were children. Without the work of our Children's Legal Program, these vulnerable kids would be left to navigate our complex immigration system alone and without legal representation. These children are in desperate need of our protection. As a nation, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding human rights and protecting vulnerable children everywhere.

There is no right to free legal representation in immigration proceedings and without AI Justice, which never charges for its services, countless adults and children without the means to hire an attorney would be forced to navigate our complex immigration system alone, essentially denying them the opportunity for justice.
