In Miami, immigrants are the essential force that allows our community to thrive. People from all over the world have made our community one of the most diverse in the country. We are proud to be a community of immigrants. In recent years, a complex immigration system and constant changes in immigration policy have affected thousands of immigrants in Miami, exposing them to misinformation, confusion, and fraud from people who take advantage of them. During the pandemic, immigrants and their children were some of the most affected individuals in our community, as many were part of our essential workforce and were not eligible for economic assistance. As long as there are families to keep together, people to help, and human rights to protect, the work is not done! That’s why we step in to help our immigrant neighbors. Immigrants with legal representation are over five times more likely to pursue immigration relief, which helps break the cycle of poverty and allows immigrants to contribute fully to the community where they live. There is no right to free legal representation in immigration proceedings, leaving over 50% of people in immigration proceedings in Florida without access to an attorney. Now, more than ever, we need your support to continue the fight for immigrants’ rights!
