Our hearts break to see another deportation flight Our hearts break to see another deportation flight to Haiti today. @POTUS acknowledges that conditions in Haiti are dire. Deportations pose serious risks to life, liberty, and physical and mental safety, and we continue calling on the Administration to stop all deportations to Haiti.

We urge POTUS to prioritize the safety and the rights of Haitians, and to not forget the importance of upholding humanitarian values. The United States has a historical commitment to providing refuge for those in need, and Haitian people should be no different.

No more deportations to Haiti!

It was an honor to introduce author and journalist It was an honor to introduce author and journalist Héctor Tobar at the Miami Book Fair this weekend. Héctor’s latest book Our Migrant Souls speaks directly to the complexities of violence, identity, class, and race that contextualize the personal stories of AI Justice’s immigrant clients and immigrants across the country. Thank you @tobarhector and @miamibookfair for uplifting these extremely important topics.

From all of us at AI Justice: have a wonderful hol From all of us at AI Justice: have a wonderful holiday weekend! 🍁
Customs & Border Protection (CBP) in San Diego is Customs & Border Protection (CBP) in San Diego is holding people seeking asylum at makeshift open-air detention sites (OADS) for hours, and sometimes days, between a set of 30-ft border walls and in the Jacumba desert. CBP denies that these are detention sites, instead calling them “gathering areas”. But by their own admission, migrants are detained there for up to three days and marked with a wristband, before being moved to other centers in San Diego and Riverside counties. Nonprofits and mutual-aid groups are supplying almost all of the food and water needed at the sites, while access to medical care is provided by volunteers. There has been at least one death reported at one such site. This is a clear example of @dhsgov stripping people of their humanity.

This must stop NOW. #AsylumIsAHumanRight #DueProcess4All #WelcomeWithDignity

This holiday season, join us to bring joy to child This holiday season, join us to bring joy to children in immigration detention.

No child should spend the holidays detained, away from their loved ones and traditions. While we continue to fight for their release and reunification with their families, we come together to make the holidays as enjoyable as possible by providing gifts for each child.

There is no right to free legal representation in immigration proceedings and without AI Justice, which never charges for its services, countless adults and children without the means to hire an attorney would be forced to navigate our complex immigration system alone, essentially denying them the opportunity for justice.
